Herald’s love affair with National #2-08

Following on the heels of the Claire Trevett’s party political broadcast on the fitness regime of the National Party comes Audrey Young’s analysis of the leaders performance over the last week.

Helen Clark came out with a 6.1 out of 10
John Key got a whopping 7.8 out of 10

So apart from actively seeking to rid labour from office with it’s pathetic over dramatic end-of-the-free-world editorials over the election finance bill’s introduction, their love affair and willingness to print any drivel about National seemingly knows no bounds.

Today if you are silly enough to read this increasingly painful newspaper, you will be delighted to read a lovely little story by Claire Trevett, which is nothing more than a party political broadcast on behalf the National Party, on how some of them went mountain biking and and John Key for a run.

Tagging is the media story de-jour.

After the tragic murder of a young boy in Auckland by allegedly a over zealous resident, we wake to the news this morning that taggers are involved in more crime.

This time they have managed to combine the medias two fav stories of the week, the Wellington Sevens and tagging.

Tomorrow or the next day I am sure we will wake to the news that there has been another incident involving taggers. After years of sticking to paint and walls, it seems that our taggers are progressing their anti-social behaviour.

Well that’s the story we are being sold by NZ’s media. Just as it wasn’t safe to walk the streets in NZ a while back due to the rabid dogs on every corner, and it wasn’t safe to be in one’s own home due to home invasions every other day, it is now the young taggers who hold the country to ransom.

Beware Banksey might be in the country.
