In the finest tradition of rampaging out of control youths, rabid dogs attaching all in sundry and seismic wave of home invasions, I have picked up the ball and run with my topic de-jour.
The bloody polls that they run on the newspapers, take this little gem.
Where is the “Income boost via increased industry productivity” option, or
“Removal of GST on all fresh fruit and vegetables” or…
Of course this is all related to the political insult slinging in the House today, the second day of this session of Parliament for 2008 – election year.
These polls are meaningless and are always lacking of imagination.
Possibly the most startling aspect of the Stuff.co.nz web site this evening (which is the conglomerate web site for a huge number of the countries metropolitan newspapers), was the Katherine Rich story. Or that should be lack of. Possibly the biggest political story of the year so far, and not a single mention of it at all on the front page, unless that is you are lucky enough to land on the front page when the revolving image/story pops up, or are patient enough to wait for it to pop up.
Strange, but then again this is the NZ media, and it’s a shadow of it’s former self and hasn’t got a thing on many of the newspapers I have encountered overseas.
