Kiwiblog is just fucking sick.

I’ve often commented on the somewhat heated nature of some of the debates over at Kiwiblog. DPF and defenders of the site got their knickers in a twist when someone dared to call them extremists.

The problem I have with the right, isn’t so much the economic policies, which are often very harmful for those at the bottom of the heap – for some reason the theory that if you cut the dole made them get a job just didn’t play out in reality, go figure? For some reason to borrow to provide tax cuts “give us our money back” isn’t oxymoronic, not to mention fiscally stupid.

What really gets me about the right is their incredible ability to belittle, malign, abuse and completely denigrate those whom they have little or no understanding of. Worse, they engage in campaigns of hate, hiding behind the populist and completely vacuous statements claiming to be ‘anti PC’ and wear it as a badge, further they use this seemingly cool to be unpopular stance to enforce stereotypes, defame and generally persecute people they just flat out don’t like.

Increasingly the topics over at Kiwiblog have become less about the economic policies of the country, well how could they be as the leading opposition party has no policy or position on these we can talk about, they just play the reactionary card. Somehow this is working, who’d thought that by not telling the people your position you could win power. The topics that have been generating the most debate and the most heated and hateful of comments have been the social issues.

This is ironic, in that the Greens have come under pretty stinging attack for (and how stupid is this) not being a single issue party? WTF, I mean if they were a single issue party, they’d be criticised for this, but as they also have a progressive social policy, this is real cause for concern for the right.

How does the right combat the political and ideological positions of the greens, with considered discourse, detailed analysis of the policy positions, don’t be so bloody stupid, this is how you react to the Greens, you suggest that one of the MPs needs,

“shock therapy ? Obviously he is a drug addict. I hate psycho nut bars who woffle meaningless shit.”

This is in response the photo that showed three green MPs wearing the official Hoodie Day hoodie in support for youth awareness;

“And the one on the right doesn’t even have his hood up, because he has gaffer-taped a cushion to his head. What a tragic wanker!”

The ‘cushion’ that this racist and religious xenophobe is refering to is the headgear that the Rastafarian MP is wearing. Would the same sort of comments be made about the lenght of the beard of a Orthodox Jew or some smart arsed comment about ‘Dog Collars’ worn by Vicars and Priests of western styled religions – not bloody likely. It’s too easy having a go at people different or other than yourself. There lies a very deep seated hatred of people different from this person.

Still if you think the Green party have played an important part of the political landscape, you’ve got another thing coming. These people are described as;

“demented utopian spineless…these creeps…these parasitic –jellyfish – scumbag hot air bags talk utter crap…These nimby communists…another joint ropehead freakster”

Seemingly in Kiwiblogland, which runs a demerit system, this sort of abuse is acceptable freedom of expression, which perhaps it is, however, one is also open to the interpretation that faceless abuse and defamation is acceptable in the vernacular of right wing political discourse.

But you are allowed to get personal too;

“how come Turei is so overweight?”

Fantastic, are we now throwing the gloves of common decency off and calling into question the weight of certain front benchers of the National Party. WTF?

But then we extend the problem and issues, and somehow the Greens are responsible for pensioners freezing somewhere in NZ;

“Green sleaze – pensioners freeze.”

Other ways to describe the Green Movement in NZ include;

“fake environmental cause…These people are meaningless, shallow and irrelevant…rastas and matted hair look like dog shit…(with reference to a suggestion for the caption of the photo of 3 Green MPs) …Three good good reasons why euthanasia should be legal…”

But we don’t stop at the Greens, although they have been the topic-du-jour of late. Some power hungry cop up north has deemed if necessary for taggers to be wearing pink vest labelled ‘tagger’ while cleaning up their mess. Legally I have no idea if this cop can do such a thing, and if they don’t this cop needs to be dressed down for such vigilante behaviour singling out certain sections of society. I don’t know about you, but drink drivers are a greater threat to the country, do they have pink labels on their cars, denigrating them? Not bloody likely. But still if you are a contributor to Kiwiblog, taggers are pretty evil people. But this is how you respond with political discourse about the ills of tagging at Kiwiblog.

“Dont feel sorry for japan being nuked? 2+more bombs should have been dropped on these cruel rapist murderers… (the Japanese people are) SICKNING ,raping killing bastards”

but if this wasn’t enough, all taggers are;

“ALL taggers are fags and tagging is a expression of their little dicks ,which explaines the maori parties love of tagging on wall,THINK dickless, (its a fact ) its done by any minority who are dickless ie taging is spraying a thing by a nuetured race, ie dickless”

“Taggers are just mongrel dogs…I vote for shooting the little bastards.”

but back to the Greens, as they are obviously the root of the problem;

“They support criminals.
They want to destroy capitalism.
They starve millions through their global warming hysteria. “

“This nation is drowning in a sea of PC crap,”

Well apparently not at Kiwiblog, hmmm who else can we have a go at, oh that’s right, we haven’t had a dig at a foreign religion for a while, this will do (remember we are on about tagging right?);

“It is people like this stupid Green shelia (A critic of the police tactic) that are behind the removal of religious insignia from our town halls just in case it offends some fucking Muslim. ”

No no, don’t hold back, we’d hate to offend some fucking Muslim now wouldn’t we. I mean after all the religious beliefs of the Muslim people are nothing more than;

“middle eastern superstition”

WOW!

Somehow we got back to taggers and this is how you deal with criticism of the police action, it’s pretty simple really – violence;

“Tell you what, let me know where you live and I’ll come around and vandalise your place”

And what was the title of the topic that got the right wing commentators all in a frenzy, this is the clincher “Silly hysteria”. Funny the only hysteria was the homophobic and xenophobic views thinly veiled as political argument or opinion.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t really fear the right wing economic ideologies, they don’t make sense, but I don’t fear them. What really scares the bejesus out of me is the strange and sometime vitriolic social policy and thoughts that pervade the right. They hate people and they don’t mind telling you so.

Kiwiblog is possibly NZ’s biggest political blog, and in the past it was because there was a chance of a good ‘ding dong’ over issues, these days it’s just a place for some pretty sick bastard extremists to come out and spew their vile thoughts out. It’s dangerous though that this sort of political thought is acceptable, indeed encouraged fostered and supported.

Those all too willing to abuse and belittle others have little respect for fellow humans, and one has to question the validity to their claims as being members of society, that right seemingly has been given up a long time ago.

  1. DPF has recently ramped up his attack on the Greens… Almost every negative piece of news he covers with “Indeed” peppered between the copy and pastes.

    Perhaps something to do with the noises being made about Nat/Green possible coalition partners?

  2. Imagine the possibility, I don’t know who would be more offended, but I do know who would be making the nastiest remarks if it did happen – which it won’t.

    It’s just National trying to put on the ‘we can work with anyone’ friendly face.

  3. Look I agree, There’s some real nutbars on Kiwiblog: look at this irrational crap:

    “Fuck you people are funny, this is how one debates political issues these days liarbour, Ms David, Lefty suckholes, fuckwit cullen, the (Lesbian) sisterhood, his cock perhaps final point, it’s not a fucking train set,. Train set my arse”.

  4. I hope you’re taking the mickey.

    Yes that was me, I was pointing out the bizarre language going on at that place.

    “liarbour, Ms David, Lefty suckholes, fuckwit cullen, the (Lesbian) sisterhood, his cock perhaps”

    were all quotes from right wing nutters at Kiwiblog.

    A decent summary there, and a reminder that I’m stupid even trying to reason with that lot. Humbling and frightening.

  6. Willie Wonker

    No, I’m not ‘taking the mickey’.
    C’mon Paul, you’re an incredible hypocrite who appears to have a serious anger management problem.
    Just read your latest rantings!

    You are one seriously fucked up sicko individual. What a sanctimonious wanker incapable of any form or political discourse, who relies on abuse”

    It’s like when NWA were persecuted for making a song called Fuck the Police or when Body Count released a song called Cop Killer – the high and bloody might came down on them like a ton of bricks, trying to ban them”

    There is no anger there, and you well know it’s in response to that foaming insane tosser Dad4, whom I quote (and remember this is how the some over there consider to conduct an argument)

    “Pinky poohs give me the screaming crapolas”
    “rampant in a feminazi regime Paula”
    “cowardly lefty creep”

    Pointing out his mental capacity and questioning his inability to form an argument let alone engage in discourse isn’t hypocrisy.

    What part of that second post was angry or even incorrect? Strange. Both cases the establishment kicked those on the fringes, while the very establishment Eric Clapton was able to sing a lovely song about killing a Sherif.

    So sorry sunshine there is no hypocrisy in pointing out the stupidity over at Kiwiblog.

    And if you call that anger management problems, sorry but your ability to stomach even slightly rigourous debate is somewhat in question.

    Pointing out that Dad is a seriously fucked up individual isn’t without fact of sincerity, as for anger, nah, I know many words that could describe him, it’s not worth it.
